The Role
Overview
Assist seniors with admin tasks & activity support at a community center.
Key Responsibilities

Tasks
-Enter participant data into the funding source database -Greet all members and visitors and notify appropriate staff of visitors as needed -Responsible for scanning client barcodes for tracking attendance, congregate meals, and other activities as needed -Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming reception area -Maintain a record of sign-in sheets for members and visitors -Assist in collecting daily meal contributions from members and guests -Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls to appropriate personnel -Receive and sort packages and other correspondence -Lead low-level participatory classes as needed, i.e. Book Club, Short Story, Alert, and Alive, etc. -Assist in setting up classes and or activities as needed

What You Bring
-1 year of community senior center or customer service-related experience required -Ability to work collaboratively as a team -Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail -Possess a genuine concern for helping with the physical, mental, and emotional needs of older persons -Ability to be reliable and flexible -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite required, with the ability to learn database maintenance -High School Diploma or equivalent -Ability to provide quality care with compassion, patience, and empathy -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills -Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities -Demonstrated commitment to supporting communities that have experienced systemic oppression and bias (i.e. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.) -Bilingual English/Spanish required -A creative self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
