The Role

Overview

Design and analyze substation structural components for safe, reliable, cost-effective solutions.

Tasks

-Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials. -Support project management activities including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication. -Progress into developing physical layout designs for high-voltage substations (69kV to 500kV), including equipment arrangement, bus configurations, and bill of materials. -Review vendor shop drawings for conformance to construction documents. -Coordinate with electrical, civil, and protection & control engineers to ensure integrated design solutions. -Conduct site visits for data collection, constructability reviews, and field engineering support. -Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, foundations, and support systems in compliance with applicable codes (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NESC).

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering -Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar -Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. -Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Designer" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression. -Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET accredited University.
