Electrical Journeyman (Mechanic)

Overview

Install and maintain electrical conduit, wiring, fixtures, and equipment for parking lot lighting.

Tasks

-Repair faulty equipment or systems. -Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit. -Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement. -Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads. -Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components. -Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. -Install switches, relays, circuit-breaker panels, etc.

What You Bring

-Must be high school graduate or hold G.E.D. -Able to operate a backhoe -Comfortable with MS Office (EXCEL, Word, Outlook) -Thorough understanding of safety requirements and OSHA guidelines -Can communicate and give written instruction in a professional manner -Must have valid driver's license. -At least 2 years of electrical experience -Able to read and understand blueprints, sketches, labels, job site maps/directions, instruction manuals and written instructions accurately -Ability to think critically and resolve problems -Able to lay out parking lot lighting and install pole bases -Ability to interpret mechanical, plumbing and structural drawings
