The Role
Overview
Entry-level field inspector for roadway construction projects in Gwinnett County.
Key Responsibilities

Tasks
-Inspecting asphalt and concrete for acceptable materials and mix; proper placement of asphalt spreading, rolling, depth, alignment and compaction; roadway and bridge structures conformance to plans; placement of culverts; structural operations such as foundation excavation; placement of piling, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete and backfill; traffic control and erosion control devices. -Independent inspection of roadway construction, and/or structure, and materials to assure compliance with the contract.

What You Bring
-Valid GA Driver's License -High school diploma/GED required -Willingness to learn new skills and work outside. -Knowledge of general mathematical and geometry functions. -Ability to take notes and prepare reports. -Various calculations and computations including standard geometric shapes. -Certifications related to areas listed above a plus. -Prior experience in quality control or a similar role is a plus -Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment -Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately -College experience or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
