Tasks

-Studies project specifications with project superintendent to plan procedures for pipe installation sequencing. -Directs and operates assigned heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill large pipe and culvert. -Coordinates and supervises daily activities of pipe crew. -Plans drain pipe installation to reduce inference with other project activities and traveling public. -Reviews employee timecards via HeavyJob. -Observes assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions. Operates machinery to verify repair. -Maintains crew safety and enforces company policies. -Production and planning of all types of pipe installation -Comply with federal, state and company environmental policies. -Inspects work to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules. -Inspects work site to determine sequencing and method of pipe installation and survey for potential hazards or safety concerns. -Uses instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation. -Establish safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards and company safety program. -Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach and grasp with hands and arms.

What You Bring

-Good vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus -Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR -Requires excellent agility, focus, balance, and manual dexterity. -Must have own basic set of hand tools. -3+ recent years’ experience working as a working Pipe Foreman. -Team player – willingness to work with others -Excellent communication skills -Ability to perform, demonstrate and inspect proper laying of pressure pipes ranging from 4” up to 36” with fittings. -Must be able to hear and comprehend oral instructions given in a noisy environment. -Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising installation of pipe/culvert on heavy civil jobs -Ability to perform, demonstrate and inspect proper laying of sanitary sewer gravity pipe from 4” to 24” as well as inspect -Ability to manage others, get jobs completed on time. -Efficient at multi-tasking and working under short time constraints. -Able to read and accurately interpret construction drawings, blueprints and plans. -Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a regular basis; occasionally lift objects weighing over 50 pounds -High School diploma or general education degree (GED) -Five years’ experience working in heavy DOT underground utility -Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion, including but not limited to: stand, walk, twist, bend, handle objects, reach outward, and reach above head and shoulders, climb, squat, kneel, bend, and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, move, drag on flat ground or steep slopes. -Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination -Thorough knowledge and proven skill working with underground utility pipelines for water, sewer, and drainage. -Detail oriented
