The Role
Overview
Lead field survey team on heavy highway projects, handling complex staking & calculations.

Tasks
-Sets up, adjusts, and operates various type of surveying equipment, in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles. -Participates in pre-survey planning meetings with Project Managers, Resident Engineers, and contractor representatives. -Performs complex surveying and engineering calculations and prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, and other survey and engineering reports. -Instructs and trains survey crew in survey and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures. -Assigns and monitors work, and provides input for evaluation of members of field survey crew. -Represents Company in project meetings, client meetings, etc. -Gathers field survey data through use of conventional and Global Positioning System (GPS) methods. -Proactively supports and enforces all Safety Polices and Standards and other Company Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring
-A minimum of 4 years of survey experience with a heavy Civil / Highway construction is preferred. -Good communication skills, both verbally and written. -Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and MS Outlook Exchange is preferred but not mandatory. -Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3d, and or Trimble Business Center. -Sets and achieves challenging goals; Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles; Measures self against standards of excellence; Takes calculated risks to accomplish goals; Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities for self-development and to advance organizational goals. -A minimum of 2 years of experience with Trimble and Leica equipment is preferred but not mandatory. -Displays original thinking and creativity; Meets challenges with resourcefulness; Generates suggestions for improving work; Develops innovative approaches and ideas. -Driver's License (Required)
