The Role

Overview

Assist with rigging, sandblasting, painting water towers, ensuring safety and quality.

Tasks

-Communicate with foreman on tasks to be done and proper procedure. -Assist with inspection of prepared/painted surfaces, wet mill gauge/dry mill gauge. -Majority of the time is spent in the field and will work in unfavorable weather conditions; both heat and cold. -Responsible for completing own timecard. -Adhere to Maguire's PPE Policy and Safety Programs. -Operate/fuel up compressor and welders. -Check rigging daily for proper setup and secure attachment points. -Assist in rigging the tower with instruction. -Assist in setting up rigging, scaffold and equipment. -Keep ground, truck, trailer and job shack organized and clean. -Run blast pots and paint pumps. -Document and inspect personal safety equipment daily including steel toe work boots. -Unrig, load and secure equipment on trailers when job is completed -Prepare surfaces for painting: pressure washing, sandblasting (light), sand removal from interior of tank. -Unload equipment/rigging from work shack.

-Specific vision abilities. Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. -Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. -High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision -Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written form -Frequently required to sit, squat, talk and hear. -Constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. -Required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk at heights up to 200 feet. -Ability to accept responsibility and account for own actions -Able to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.
