The Role

Overview

Lead design projects, managing scope, cost, schedule, client relations in pharma facilities.

Tasks

-Attends pre-bid meetings with clients and prepares proposals in conjunction with department heads, directors, and other key individuals. -Actively develops, with minimum assistance, in the Design budget development. -The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas. -Responsible for project scope control and development/communication of all change notices (SAN) to the client. -Identifies risks to the project and the corporation and works with Project Executives and the Director of Operations to mitigate risks. -Responsible for the management of all sub-consultants on the project. -Prepares internal monthly financial/schedule reports for the Director of Operations for each project. -Promotes Safety and adheres to IPS and client Safety policies. -Prepares monthly financial/schedule reports for the Client as requested by the client. -Provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced Project Managers and Project Engineers. -Maintains long-term industry relationships. -Identify areas of potential Innovation and improvement for the group. -Develops and maintains meeting minutes and Action Items/Needs List for each project. -Develops and Maintains the Project Execution Plan. -Holds primary responsibility for the achievement of scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives on assigned projects. -Ensures achievement of corporate goals for assigned projects. -Manages client interaction on assigned projects and promotes positive relationships. -Enhances and facilitates project team communication and coordination. -Leads project teams of their own or led by others to a successful conclusion. Searches for new opportunities and initiates action. -You will visit Client sites and must adhere to stated safety rules. -Coordinates with the project discipline lead to determining the scope, complexity, and planning and scheduling requirements of the projects. -Assists in identifying and developing innovative methods for improving project management processes and techniques against current SOPs.

What You Bring

-8+ years of industry experience, at least five of which include Project Management experience. -Sees things going wrong and corrects them before problems arise. -Maintains personal competency in relevant professional areas. -Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, team building, and a strong work ethic. -Must be able to build rapport with project staff. -Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others. -Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required. -Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying working conditions. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or planning. -This position will require 5-20% travel or as required by the assigned project. -Good written and verbal communication skills. -Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. -Must have access to reliable transportation. -2+ years of Pharmaceutical/GMP project experience. -Fundamental level of scheduling skills. -Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software. -Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis. -Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client’s location is possible, depending on the assignment. -Must be able to climb ladders as necessary. -Has developed an understanding of how to delegate work. -Must have the ability to run multiple simultaneous large projects. -Must be able to adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocol. -Understanding of Earned Value and other project control methods. -Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
