Tasks
-Develop and program control logic for HVAC systems using PLCs and DDCs. -Provide mentorship to team members entering the HVAC field of engineering. -Assist field service personnel with troubleshooting, performance tuning, and commissioning support. -Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure design-for-assembly in control panel layouts and wiring harnesses. -Contribute to multiple new product development projects as well as support existing product platforms. -Translate HVAC sequences of operation into practical, reliable, and serviceable control strategies. -Support QA and validation efforts including unit control testing, simulation, lab testing, and agency certifications. -Interface with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders to define control requirements and resolve technical issues. -Design and implement configurable firmware/software structures to support diverse system configurations.

What You Bring
-Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sensors, and control strategies. -Comfortable using lab tools, simulation software, and troubleshooting platforms. -Project management exposure or formal training. -Familiarity with electrical schematics, panel layout, and power distribution. -Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation/Controls Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. -Strong focus on standardization of code, object-oriented development and scalability of products. -5+ years of experience in controls engineering, ideally within the HVAC or building automation sector. -Prior work with HVAC control system design and sequence development and overall system tuning. -Experience with Variable Frequency drives, ECM controlled motors, stepper motor configuration and coordination. -Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills. -Proficient in programming IEC 61131-3/CODESYS based PLCs (e.g., Carel, Schneider, Siemens, etc.). -Knowledge of UL, CE, and other compliance standards related to controls and electrical safety. -Focus on control systems, embedded software, or HVAC applications preferred. -Hands-on experience with BACnet, Modbus, LONtalk, and IP-based communication protocols. -A valid passport and willingness to travel within Canada and the U.S. (approximately 5–20%). -Ability to manage workload independently and adapt to evolving project needs. -Strong communication and collaboration across disciplines.
