Tasks

The PSM Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the refinery's Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 and other applicable regulations. This role ensures that the refinery’s operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and with minimal risk to personnel, the environment, and assets. -Coordinate and monitor Mechanical Integrity (MI) programs and inspections. -Maintain and update Process Safety Information (PSI), including P&IDs, process descriptions, and safety data. -Manage all elements of the refinery’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program. -Manage Management of Change (MOC) processes and ensure compliance. -Conduct audits, evaluations, and gap analyses of PSM systems and practices. -Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and internal audits regarding process safety. -Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOPs, What-If studies, and other risk assessments. -Support Emergency Planning and Response activities. -Work with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement and verify corrective actions. -Investigate PSM-related incidents and lead Root Cause Analyses (RCAs). -Develop, maintain, and deliver PSM training programs for refinery personnel and contractors.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred). -3–5+ years of experience in a refinery, petrochemical plant, or other high-hazard industry. -Strong organizational, communication, and training skills. -Ability to work cross-functionally and influence a safety-first culture. -Experience with PHAs, MOC, MI, and incident investigation processes. -In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 PSM regulations and other applicable standards (e.g., API, NFPA, CCPS).
