Lead mechanical engineer for UPS and power storage product development.
-Work with global product development teams to solve problems related to performance, functionality, safety, reliability, quality, and component availability. -Successfully launch critical power infrastructure products that meet customer requirements and Eaton safety, quality, reliability, cost, and schedule commitments. -Work with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements and create mechanical systems considering space, manufacturing, service, thermal, and other design considerations. -Identify opportunities for process, tools, and test methodology improvements, and drive those from concept to implementation. -Be a key member of a world-class organization that creates market leading 3 phase UPS, BESS products for the datacenter market -Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents. -Leverage your skill and experience by giving guidance to other technical project team members and review other team members designs and provide feedback. -Develop and support building of engineering and validation prototypes as well as support manufacturing personnel during launch process. -Work closely with regulatory experts to ensure design meet UL and other certification body requirements. -Mentor – can work with less experienced engineers and designer to provide meaningful feedback about design implications.

This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. -Continuous Learner – Actively seeks out new and innovative ways to solve problems -Experience with thermal and structural simulations. -In depth knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) techniques. -Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and critical thinking to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, Is excellent at honest analysis, Looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers. -Experience developing large scale power electronics from concept to manufacturing launch. -Leverage in-depth knowledge of industry design principles around sheet metal, plastics, and other manufacturing methods -Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with Minimum Five (5) years of experience in Mechanical Design OR a Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with a Minimum of Three (3) years work experience in mechanical design -Experience with sheet metal design, BoM creation and reading electrical diagrams. -Experience working with multi-kW lithium ion energy storage systems including battery management and products designed for outdoor or non-climate controlled environments. -Communication - discuss technical concepts and information to internal staff/peers and stakeholders, strong verbal and written documentation, and interpersonal communication skills. -MastersDegree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. -Experience with power distribution system design and protection. -Decision quality – makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment. -Exceptional problem-solving skills working to design and layout systems while engaging cross functional teams to identify optimal layout while balancing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and long-term serviceability.
