The Role

Overview

Lead MOT design, mentor staff, produce civil/traffic plans using MicroStation & AutoCAD

Tasks

-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Follow various DOT Standards and work with companies CAD Standards when applicable -Produce documents with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook -Work with engineering team in developing preliminary and final design plans and details

What You Bring

-Knowledge of engineering principles and materials for MOT / highway work -Regular, reliable attendance -Ability to Travel up to 25% of the time to Office or Site -12+ years’ experience in CAD production of highway and civil designs -Associate Degree or high school diploma -Read and understand construction documents -Ability to lead, mentor and inspire Junior team members -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment -Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) -The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate well with Engineers, Designers and Construction team -5+ years’ MOT or traffic design / delivery experience -Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan and conceptualize -Knowledge in AutoCAD a plus -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Use Bentley Micro Station / AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software; ORD experience preferred -Design experience or Design-Build project experience a plus -Proficiency in Micro Station -Knowledge of 3D modeling a plus
