Associate Civil/Structural Designer

Overview

Entry-level civil/structural designer assisting with drawings, 2D/3D drafting, under supervision.

Tasks

-Provide drafting support as required -Develop basic technical skills to complete assigned work -Assist in the preparation of detail drawings and deliverables of high technical quality and consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction -3D drafting and/or model creation -Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with McDermott requirements, Client and Statutory Design Codes, Standards, or Procedures with a particular focus on Health and Safety Policies -2D drafting -Develop 3D Models -Prepare Civil and Structural layouts from data generated by others, in close liaison with Civil and Structural Engineers and counterparts from other disciplines -Become fully familiar with the Project Scope of Work, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address them

What You Bring

-Knowledge of 2D (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) drafting systems and other drafting software -Proactive and willing to learn -High School graduate with a diploma in Civil or Structural disciplines or equivalent experience -Familiarity with 3D design systems E3D or S3D would be an advantage -Basis of E3D and/or S3D -Entry level to less than 3 years drafting and/or design
