Daily tasks involve working within a multidisciplinary team to identify environmental and social impacts, coordinate experts, prepare reports, and interpret results according to current standards. The role requires direct client interaction, strong writing abilities, and active participation in stakeholder relations.
In this position you will develop and maintain constructive relationships with clients and regional stakeholders. Responsibilities include preparing the social component of impact studies, conducting baseline studies, consultations, and analyzing social and cumulative impacts. You will lead public consultation meetings, conduct stakeholder interviews, facilitate liaison committees, implement engagement strategies, and develop communication and public consultation plans.
The successful candidate holds a university or college degree in geography, land‑use planning, social or environmental sciences, or equivalent experience, and brings 4 to 25 years of experience in environmental impact and social acceptability studies. Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and budgets, in‑depth knowledge of best practices, proficiency in French (bilingualism an asset), and PMP or CAPM certification are required. Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 9001 auditing and excellent organizational and communication skills are also valued.
