Tasks

-Performs the necessary functions and tasks to manage CM direct reports in an effective manner. -Participates in capture planning, contributes proposal strategies and proposal development, and attends interviews to win CM work. -Assists in identifying new projects, markets, project planning, workload and staffing, and other related matters for Construction Services. -Manages quality, budget, and schedule of responsible construction projects. -Implements and maintains quality control procedures to manage conflicts, ensure accuracy and identify critical reviews and milestones. -Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the job site and that all safety codes are met. -Leads CM teams to successful completion of construction projects. -Conduct periodic site visits to monitor the progress of construction, review status of work completed, review that work is generally proceeding in a good manner and in general accordance with the approved drawings and specifications. -Participates in recruiting activities; attends networking and targeted recruiting events, and identifies and refers CM talent in the marketplace. -Creates a network of industry business contacts for potential business development opportunities for the division; seeks out new and interesting business opportunities. -Develops and leads a cohesive team to achieve project objectives. -Performs quality control measures and audits quality control measures for project work. -Reviews and approves consultant and contractor invoices and approves change orders to contract documents. -Engages with the preparation and presentation of CM project proposals and pursuits to include interviews. -Maintains, develops, and grows existing and new business opportunities. -Communicates effectively to all levels within the organization and also externally with industry partners and clients, etc. -Generates sufficient business to sustain and grow the region and division. -Creates and maintains positive, long-term client relationships. -Partners with field personnel to handle and assist with project issues as they arise.

What You Bring

-Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with competing priorities. -Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays. -Competent verbal and written communication skills. -California Professional Engineer (PE) license required; or PE in another state with the ability to obtain CA Licensure within one year; Certified Construction Manager a plus. -Demonstrated understanding of project financials and metrics. -10-15+ years progressively responsible experience in construction management. -Willingness to travel. -BS degree in Civil or Construction Engineering. -Demonstrated ability to deliver scope of work to the agreed project schedule. -Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities. -Demonstrated client and project relationship management. -Possesses the ability to chase, sell, and secure project work with new and existing clients. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); knowledge and experience with project management software and P6 preferred.
