Tasks

-Procure materials to meet the goals of Johnson Controls regarding required pilot run dates and production start dates while maintaining cost and quality. -Work with new suppliers to ensure vendors PAPSO are completed and signed off by both parties. -Set up new component in the MRP/ERP and link it to the rank 1 vendor after receiving production quotes from Strategic Procurement. -Purchase from distribution when components can be procured within the scheduled run date. When component lead time is outside the required run date, search for alternative suppliers. -Ensure that the Best Price Analysis are received on time within the correct lead times and minimum order quantities in accordance with forecast. -Work with senior level buyers and Strategic Procurement on any procurement issues and resolve invoice and receipt discrepancies while expediting orders. -Request quotes for startup materials and place purchase orders for required materials to cover 3 months of the production ramp-up schedule on all new components. -Collaborate with vendors towards tooling qualification and capability study results, ensuring vendor qualification per Johnson Controls Product Development Process. -Using design engineering documentation, purchase all required material to build a sample, proto, or pilot run. -Maintain a spreadsheet tracking material availability and adjust as necessary if EC’s are issued during the release period.

What You Bring

-Experience in a team environment is desirable. -Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience. -Proficient in Microsoft Office. -Good communication skills both written and verbal; fluency in English and Spanish is required. -Three to five years’ experience in purchasing, material planning, or production control.
