The Role

Overview

Commissioning and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial projects

Tasks

-Troubleshoot control system components including but not limited to: transmitters, switches, solenoid valves, control valves, I/P's and similar devices. -Construct, alter, repair, and test all electrical components that are integral to the operations of industrial activities and electrical systems. -Install new and maintain low, medium, and high voltage equipment. -Work around energized power and control equipment. -Troubleshoot control system components including but not limited to: PLC hardware, instrument and control signal and power wiring. -Effectively instruct, mentor and coach apprentices and team members to support safe and efficient job/task execution. -Engage in client field audit/inspection activities. -Will adhere to Shermco’s Alcohol and Drug Policy as defined; and -Determine appropriate application of installations and ensure all meet company and client standards, regulations and applicable code compliance. -Take part and engage in Shermco Proactive Safety Reporting and leading indicators. -Perform control system integration, loop checks, startup and commissioning services. -Perform all duties to a level of competency, normally expected of a Journeyperson Electrician and Instrumentation Technician. -Commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems. -Keep construction, maintenance, quality, test reports and documentation. -Install new, calibrate and maintain various types of field instruments and tubing. -Will be responsible to become familiar with, abide by, and to administer the Shermco Health, Personnel and Safety policies. -Determine appropriate selection of materials.

What You Bring

-Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Certificate or Technologist Diploma. -Experience in industrial setting considered an asset. -All PPE and FR/AF rated workwear provided, including winter gear and rain gear provided -Experience in commissioning of electrical and/or instrumentation systems considered an asset. -Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. -Industrial facility safe work qualifications/training considered asset. -Available for out-of-town work based on varying project requirements. -Work safely in a fast-paced environment. -Must have a valid driver's license and able to maintain a clean abstract.
