Tasks

-(if required) Designs irrigation system for landscape projects. -Performance Management: Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal. -Organizational Capability Building: Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills. -Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate. -Reviews shop drawing, Material submittal, Method statement, RFI response and As Built Drawing. -Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems. -Continually review the contractor's construction schedule during the progress of site works. -Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions to ensure progress on site. -Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the works for Contractor's adherence to the approved shop drawings and Consultant's specification, good working practices, the construction schedule and health & safety. -Work Scheduling and Allocation: Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines. -Performs all aspects of garden installation, including hardscape, irrigation, and plant placement. -Maintains records for activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required. -Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used and monitors it for improvement. -Prepares Surveillance Report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site that are believed to have failed or if the contractor is not complying with verbal instructions and subsequently complete a Non-Conformance Report (NCR) if required in view of the development of events. -Prepares and presents work progress reports on daily, weekly, and monthly basis. -Attend project, site progress and any related technical meetings as directed by the project manager. -Leadership and Direction: Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals. -Lead the snagging and de-snagging process with an aim to progress the works to completion through this process. -Monitors procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline. -Provide advice to the Project Manager in regard to any variation costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the course of the works. -Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager. -Hands on in monitoring the landscape works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual. -Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate. -Assists with selection of native plants appropriate their locality, exposure, aspects, soil, and landscape desires. -Prepare draft site / engineer's instructions, relating to the project, as required and issue to the Project Manager. -Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees. -Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current re vision level and correct technical execution of the work. -External Communications: Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice. -Quality Assurance: Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives and monitor them to make sure they are effective. -Construction Management: Supervise others on a construction project, working within established operational systems. -Reviews technical submittal related to soft landscaping & hard landscape works. -Oversee junior staff members for all landscape work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards. -Advise the project manager of any technical aspects that may affect construction progress, quality and the like. -(If required) participates in landscaping design review and with design approving agencies including technical expertise in soft & hard landscaping works. -Coordinates process with other disciplines. -Performs works inspection requests and material inspection requests as required.
