Overview

Tasks

-Collaborate with our subcontractors and supply chain to deliver best value solutions whilst aligning with our corporate Environmental and Sustainability strategy, goals and objectives. -Conduct environmental incident investigations. -Maintain personal development keeping up to date with knowledge and competency levels in relation to environmental management and sustainability. -design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) -Conduct on-site field monitoring to ensure continued compliance of ongoing construction activities at project sites with environmental legislative and regulatory requirements, company standards and others as applicable. -Work with the Quality & Compliance Manager and H&S Manager to develop, review and ensure implementation of the Environmental Management System including ISO 14001 certification. -Prepare and deliver communications, including bulletins, alerts, toolbox talks, briefings and training -Interface with external stakeholders such as local authorities, EA, SEPA, Natural England, etc. -Advise and support with obtaining environmental licences, permits and consents and monitor their compliance on construction projects. -Collaborate with other environmental specialists, sub-contractors and sub-consultants, in fields of hazardous material management and remediation, ecology, archaeology, hydrology, environmental planning and consents, traffic, etc. -Collation of data and data analysis and subsequently providing recommendations for future actions and measures.

What You Bring

-Good interpersonal skills, operating with empathy, clear communicator and influencer. -Computer literate. -Working knowledge of or familiarity with: -environmentally preferred material -PEER (power system performance and electricity infrastructure), -Experience of EMS and developing policies and procedures. -Active credential and/or recent project experience as a CEEQUAL Assessor or an Envision Sustainability Professional (from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure). -Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 7 years minimum in an environmental position in a high-compliance construction industry. -RELi (project resilience, including hazard mitigation and adaptation). -The ability to remain calm and focused when under pressure. -Chartered or working towards chartership of a relevant professional Institution (e.g., CIEEM, CIWEM, IEMA, IES, etc.). -circular economy principles in construction -Experience of auditing and inspection. -Ideally 2-3 years’ experience of an environmental position in a power T&D related industry. -modern methods of construction (MMC) -Excellent organizational and time management skills. -A self-starter and finisher. Able to work on own or as part of a team. -Familiarity with concepts such as: -Experience of preparing briefing materials and training -the SuRe standard for sustainable and resilient infrastructure (from GIB: Global Infrastructure Basel), -Project experience or working knowledge of:
