-Prepares conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals -Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines -Provides technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards -Evaluates, selects, and applies standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications -Coordinates mechanical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups -Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project mechanical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution -Participates in the design, development and modification of mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
-Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education. -Must have or be capable of obtaining EIT or Professional Registration (PE) License in Mechanical, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering within one (1) year of hire date. -Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. -Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential. -Must have completed a minimum of 4 years of active-duty military service in the United States Armed Forces, with an honorable discharge. -Experience in fluid system design in processing facilities, DOE facilities, or DOD facilities preferred.
