  • Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Automation (DFMA)
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • New Product Process Integration: Lead cross-functional project team of professional engineers and other supporting roles responsible for executing the release of the next generation of S&C products and solutions. Translate product requirements created from marketing, sales, and customer feedback into authored manufacturing process requirements that achieve the objectives of Production Operations.
  • Process Development and Validation: Lead project team through Production Preparedness Process (3P) events to design, prototype, build, and implement manufacturing processes capable of executing a production launch that meets SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) performance targets.
  • Budget Management: Own project capital budgets of $10M+, through identification and justification of manufucting process expenditures and management of cash flows to financial targets.
  • Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
  • Project Reporting: Present project statuses, to leadership using data driven analysis to inform process, equipment, and production decisions. Oversee project and process objectives, recommending strategic changes when needed to meet deadlines.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
  • Product Development Team Partnership: Partner with product development team to create and maintain project plans for release of scalable new products that deliver innovative solutions for a safe, reliable, resilient electrical grid.
  • Engineering Mentorship: Mentor team-members, leveraging personal expertise and relevant experience to improve the competencies of Manufacturing Engineers and project teams.
  • Supplier Selection: Support identification, negotiation and selection of suppliers and other vendor partners needed to produce new products, providing expertise on process, equipment, and production requirements and ensuring alignment with customer expectations and company goals.
  • Product Design Partnership: Partner with product design team to realize products that meet Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Automation(DFMA) requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement Activities: Collaborate and lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance the quality of engineering processes within the Manufacturing Engineering function and ensure results directly support improved customer satisfaction.

  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
  • Leading organizational, planning, and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources, creative problem-solving when obstacles arise, and juggling a heavy volume of diverse projects, including both strategic and tactical assignments.
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS)
  • Communication - Frequently required to talk and hear, in person and by phone/conference calls.
  • Excellent business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve complex issues, and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Observation / Eyesight - Infrequently required to observe details at close range, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors.

  • Master's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation); able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from senior executives to support staff, and present compellingly to achieve buy-in from executives, managers, and team members.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
  • Proven record of successfully and consistently integrating new products in a manufacturing environment from the initial phases of spec development to final stages of quality and compliance validation.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in delivering major new products to market within a high-volume, high-mix or semi-automated manufacturing environment.
  • Possess leading expertise in manufacturing and product engineering with deep subject matter expert knowledge in value stream mapping, lean six sigma manufacturing, and process design.
  • Walking - Occasionally required to walk moderate distances across the S&C campus.
