Tasks

-Regulatory Compliance: Work with engineering to ensure all designs comply with nuclear industry regulations, standards, and safety protocols. -Project Management: Coordinate design activities for multiple engineering projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion of drawings and specifications. Individual will be required to supervise individuals working on multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently. -Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain documentation of design work, including drawing revisions and project progress. -Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to verify that designs meet technical specifications and client requirements. -Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to the design and drafting team to keep up with the latest design trends and software advancements. -Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to define design requirements and address any design or drafting challenges. -Design Oversight: Review and ensure accuracy and compliance of technical drawings, plans, and designs created by the team. -Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of design and drafting professionals, ensuring high levels of performance and career development. -Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and team output.

What You Bring

-In-depth knowledge of nuclear engineering design principles, standards, and regulatory requirements. -Ability to manage individuals working on multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently. -Strong understanding of nuclear codes, safety standards (e.g., ASME, NQA-1, NRC regulations). -Certification in CAD or related drafting software is desirable. -Associate’s Degree in a related field is a plus. -Minimum of 5 years of experience in design and drafting within the nuclear, energy, or heavy industry sectors. -Proposal Development: Ability to provide cost and duration estimates for future work. -Expertise in 2D and 3D drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, MicroStation). -At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders. -Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-specific design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar) to oversee and manage design work.
