The Role

Overview

Assist in designing and implementing lighting solutions for interior and exterior spaces.

Tasks

-Assists to design and specify project-appropriate lighting requirements. -Assists to conduct site investigations and observations. -Assists to perform cross-discipline discussions and coordination. -Coordinates designs with the work of others. -Assists to prepare narratives, reports, hand and computer calculations, presentation renders, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints. -Performs Revit modeling and detailing -Additional assignments may include attending client and internal meetings, assisting with performing construction contract administration, and assisting with marketing/business development activities.

What You Bring

-Active involvement and demonstrated leadership skills in extracurricular activities on campus and in the community is preferred. -Must be working towards graduation of ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with a lighting emphasis. -Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills and knowledge of other building systems. -Knowledge and proficiency using the following software is a plus: 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Revit, 3DS Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Rhino, Grasshopper, DIVA, or Climate Studio; Building energy code analysis software such as COMcheck; Lighting simulation analysis software, such as Iray or AGi32; Knowledge of LightStanza or ElumTools for REVIT -Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team. -Knowledge and proficiency with computer software including REVIT MEP is preferred.
