
Technical Sales Specialist (Abrasives)

The Role
Overview
Drive technical sales and conversions of abrasive products to large industrial customers.

Tasks
-Develop and maintain strong relationships with large end users and key local distributors -Provide post-sale support and troubleshooting for product applications. -Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share with a focus on large competitive conversions. -Contribute to technical documentation and product specifications. -Support distribution sales team on occasion with technical expertise or product demonstrations, industry events, etc. -Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and forecasts via CRM and other tools as required -Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase technical capabilities. -Work closely with territory sales manager to close deals. -Promote Pearl Metal Working products including (but not limited to) bonded grinding and cutting discs, wire wheels, carbide burrs and flap wheels and other granulated materials. -Work closely with local distribution sales team to align on market strategy, prospective and in process opportunities, etc., to ensure both departments are aligned and working together to accelerate growth -Develop a strong understanding of the construction industry in assigned territory to know what projects will deliver growth regardless of macro-economic environment -Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to enhance product offerings. -Advise leadership and Product Management teams on industry trends, abrasive or complimentary product uses or opportunities, product performance testing and feedback, etc. -Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.

What You Bring
-Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs. -Strong knowledge of metalworking or construction tools and their applications. -Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. -Must be able to work in various environments including job sites, fabrication shops, factories, trade shows, etc. -Proven track record in outside sales and territory management. -Experience in metalworking or related technical fields. -Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial sales. -Position is remote but must reside in one of the following areas: Dallas/Ft Worth, Cleveland OH, Pittsburgh PA, or Atlanta GA -Must be able to travel extensively, with clean driving record and the ability to travel by air as on occasion . -Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools. Familiarity with P21 or similar systems. -Must be able to embrace inconsistent work hours, starting early to align with the construction industry and various time zones.
