Tasks

-Work collaboratively within cross-functional project teams across the full project lifecycle—from concept to handover. -Design and integrate machine control system software including PLCs, Robotics, Motion, HMI, SCADA, and Vision systems. -Prepare and interpret technical documentation, including User Requirement Specifications (URS), Functional Design Specifications (FDS), and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) protocols. -Develop, test, commission, and support bespoke automation solutions across a range of industries. -Specify appropriate control system components based on project requirements. -Ensure all equipment designs meet CE marking, electrical, machinery safety, and relevant client/industry standards.

Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced automated equipment solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with bespoke engineering systems based in Galway. If you are living in Ireland and hold a valid work permit, we would love to hear from you, if however, you do not hold a valid work permit unfortunately we will not be in a position to assist you with your job search. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Proven hands-on experience with PLC and HMI systems (preferably Allen Bradley or Siemens). -Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams. -Strong understanding of automated machine design, control system specification, and development. -Driving License and ability to travel -Quality-focused with a problem-solving mindset. -Familiarity with robotics, motion control, machine vision, and pneumatics is an advantage. -Ability to create, review, and maintain technical and validation documentation.
