Welder/Mechanic

Overview

Inspect, repair, install equipment and weld for underground mining operations.

Tasks

-Lubricate machines, machine parts or other equipment according to standards -Collaborate with team members to repair move machine parts for equipment or transport materials between work areas -Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment -Inspect equipment for signs of wear -Disassemble machines and remove parts for repairs using hand tools, chain falls, jacks or hoists -Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture -Notify supervisors of needed repairs -Perform welding and fabrication activities as needed

What You Bring

-Valid US driver's license -Knowledge of MSHA regulations -General physical activities including climbing stairs, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping and handling materials -Effective written and verbal communication -Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance -Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred -Proper wear of personal protective equipment -Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round -Ability to work in elevated areas -Previous maintenance experience preferred -High school diploma or equivalent -Ability to work with minimal supervision
