Tasks

-Support design and field activities including shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, and construction site observations to ensure design intent is maintained. -Participate in staff recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship, helping establish the Frederick electrical team as a regional center of excellence. -Perform and oversee building assessments, electrical evaluations, and quality control reviews to ensure conformance with client standards and codes. -Coordinate with multi-discipline project teams across Norfolk, Richmond, Roanoke, and Frederick offices to deliver integrated MEP solutions. -Provide full-scope electrical design including power distribution, lighting and control systems, standby and emergency power, and low-voltage systems (data, communications, fire alarm, security.) -Lead the electrical design of complex building systems, primary focus on mission critical, infrastructure, life science, and advanced manufacturing facilities. -Direct and mentor engineering support staff in the preparation of design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and cost estimates. -Serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects, managing technical rigor, quality assurance, and compliance with applicable standards. -Lead or support business development initiatives, including proposal development, client presentations, and expansion of B&N’s mission critical client base throughout the DMV region.

What You Bring

-Experience performing power system studies and arc flash hazard analysis is a plus -Demonstrated ability to lead multi-discipline design teams, manage budgets and schedules, and deliver projects on time and within budget. -Experience performing short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies a plus. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients, mentor staff, and foster collaboration across offices. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited college or university -Leverage experience in data center power topologies, medium and low-voltage distribution, UPS and generator systems, and infrastructure retrofits to expand B&N’s portfolio and capabilities. -10 + years of experience -Desire and ability to build and lead a local electrical design team, embodying B&N’s core values of integrity, collaboration, innovation, respect, client focus, and excellence. -P.E. registration required; NCEES Record preferred. -Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit required; Bluebeam, Procore, and SKM Power Tools experience strongly preferred.
