Tasks
-Assist in creating contract templates, playbooks, and guidance materials to improve efficiency and consistency across the company. -Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on litigation, corporate, real estate, and commercial law issues as needed. -Participate in the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, with an emphasis on learning key contractual terms and risk allocation. -Develop a strong understanding of Transwestern’s business operations, services, and risk profile to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance. -Provide accurate and timely legal advice and counsel to business management and risk team regarding a nationwide litigation docket, including strategic advice on mitigating legal risk and dispute resolution. -Proactively manage legal costs through careful internal and external resource deployment, budgeting, active project management, and other techniques for assuring cost discipline. -Manage external counsel in developing and implementing effective litigation and dispute management strategies through the entire litigation/dispute life cycle.

What You Bring
-Juris doctorate from a US accredited law school and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas or other U.S. state bar. -2-5 years of either transactional or litigation experience within a law firm or in-house legal department with the ability and willingness to learn other legal disciplines to meet Transwestern’s legal needs. -Ability to thrive in a challenging setting involving a high volume of diverse matters while delivering results under tight deadlines. -Ability to keep information strictly confidential.
