The Role

Overview

Repair, test, and retrofit low‑ to medium‑voltage circuit breakers onsite.

Tasks

-Troubleshoot, rebuild, retrofit, test, and repair low, medium and high voltage switchgear to include the teardown and assembly of breakers, contactors and related switchgear and electrical apparatus, including: -Work on low & medium voltage circuit breakers, including GE, Westinghouse, Powell, ABB, ITE, and many others. -Occasionally travel overnight to jobs sites for onsite breaker testing and repair.

What You Bring

-Strong mechanical skills and experience desired such as industrial mechanical engines, pneumatics, hydraulics, or diesel equipment will be beneficial. -Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam. -Must be physically fit to crawl, climb, stand, walk and lift up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations. -Must be willing to travel around 20% of the time -Working knowledge of power systems, power circuit breakers and other switchgear apparatus desirable. -PEARL breaker certification desirable. -Experience at an OEM breaker manufacturer a plus. -480V to 15KV circuit breaker experience desired. -Low-voltage Switchgear up to 3000A, Air Circuit Breakers ATS, 480V, 60Hz and 400V, 50 Hz. -Previous experience with rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting circuit breakers. -Prefer testing skills and understand fundamental electrical and mechanical testing procedures. -Requires a High School Diploma or GED; prefer electro-mechanical training from trade school, apprenticeship or armed services. -Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights. -Must be able to stay Drug-Free; you will be required to pass a pre-employment hair follicle drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests. -All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening. -Prefer experience reading and interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams. -Experience at correctly using tools and testing equipment including Megger, digital multimeter, Hi-Pot tester, Oil Dielectric strength tester, multiamps relay tester, primary & secondary injection set, cable fault detector, & oscilloscope desirable -Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. -Must have a valid driver’s license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record. -Must not currently or in the future require sponsorship to work in the U.S. -High-voltage switchgear up to 3000A, SF-6 Vacuum Circuit Breakers ATS, 13.8kV, 60Hz and 11kV, 50H -Medium-voltage switchgear up to 3100A, Vacuum Circuit Breakers ATS, 15.5kV, 4.16kV, 60 Hz and 6/6kV, 50Hz -Must have an acceptable pre-employment criminal background check.
