Assist in geotechnical and tunneling design and investigations for underground projects.

Tasks

-Help prepare geotechnical data reports, interpretive reports, baseline reports, and design reports. -Interpret geology, geotechnical, and hydrologic conditions to understand their impact on design and construction. -Support the development and implementation of geotechnical subsurface exploration plans. -Contribute to the design and support of rock and soil tunnels using numerical and empirical methods. -Aid in the preparation of proposals and assimilation of geotechnical reports. -Assist in the design of tunnels, earth retention systems, rock and soil slopes, and deep foundations. -Supervise drill crews on routine projects and conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA’s) with guidance.

What You Bring

-Knowledge in Geotechnical Data Reports (GDR). -Experience in rock and soil logging, rock tunnel mapping, and subsurface investigations. -Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent. -Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry. -Experience with PLAXIS 2D and 3D and ITASCA software (FLAC 2D and UDEC).
