Tasks

-Provide advice regarding legal issues in construction and warranty -Review and revise subcontractor contract documents, handle disputes -Assist in managing division litigation, including coordination with outside counsel regarding active and potential litigation matters; the provision of documents and information pertinent to active or potential litigation; attendance at hearings, settlement conferences, and related proceedings -Assist in drafting job descriptions -Review and revise homebuyer contract documents; advise regarding RESPA issues, FHA/VA compliance and other home sale issues -Assist and advise the Division Human Resources Manager with manager training regarding employment policies and practices -Review and revise homeowner association documents and provide advice on homeowner association issues. Review marketing contract and programs; draft documentation as necessary -Provide legal advice related to land acquisition, land use, entitlement, zoning, and development, including reviewing and drafting contracts, title and land development documents, and other related documents; working with the title company, municipalities, and special districts; handling closings; consulting with and coordinating with outside counsel -Handle customer disputes; coordinate with outside counsel as necessary -Provide advice regarding various other division matters -Provide advice regarding employment matters and issues -Supervises 2 or more employees -Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company -Assist and advise the Division Human Resources Manager regarding safety programs, the review and revision of manual and written policies, and safety issues including OSHA

What You Bring

-Ability to travel overnight -Strong communication skills -Five to seven years of experience and/or training -Proficiency with MS Office and email -Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications -Ability to multi-task and attention to detail -Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) -Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. -Must be a licensed attorney and in good standing with state bar association(s) of which you are a member -Prior experience in corporate or environmental law
