Tasks

-Ideate, develop, and lead site-specific Safety & Health programs and ensure adherence to enterprise policies, programs, and procedures, at a minimum -Participate in annual professional development in addition to the required education/training expectations for this position -Keep abreast of Safety legislative/regulatory changes that may influence business functions -Champion the establishment of effective investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions designed to improve Safety and drive to a culture predicated on injury prevention -Act as primary lead on obtaining or maintaining OSHA VPP Star compliance -Be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations -Monitor, analyze and report Safety and Health data for trends and areas of concern -Develop and execute, in coordination with other leaders, a strategic annual goal setting plan for eliminating injuries and accidents through proactive risk identification and mitigation -Lead the local Safety & Health team including making hiring decisions, developing, and training team members, maintain a staffing ratio that is consistent with enterprise model -Train the trainer designations related to Safety and Health -Collaborate with Enterprise Safety & Health on leading S&H initiatives -Ensure enterprise policies and programs regarding safety are compliant at a site level and administered regarding federal, state, and local regulations and company requirements. -Participate in cross-facility Safety & Health audits to ensure maximum performance and adherence to policy and procedure consistently across the enterprise -Develop and update rules, regulations and operating procedures minimizing exposures to identified safety hazards and risks -Manage OSHA, VPP, and employee health and wellness, as well as other training needs and improvement programs

What You Bring

-Ability to frequently stand and walk around facility -Strong verbal presentation and facilitation skills -Ability to influence stakeholders -Understanding of FM Global property insurance requirements -Currently hold or willingness to obtain additional education, safety certifications, and designations required. Designations include but not limited to: -5+ years’ experience in safety related role(s) with increasing levels of responsibility -Ability to analyze and provide solutions from Marvin safety data sources (e.g., incident collection software, audit software, etc.) -Ability to travel (<15% per year) -NSC Advanced Safety Certificate -Strong working knowledge of other government/professional organizations such as Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), NIOSH, NRC, ASSP NFPA, and the National Safety Council -Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with employees, leadership, and regulatory personnel -Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and experience may be considered in place of degree. -Experience in Safety and Health leadership roles in a manufacturing environment preferred -Environmental experience a plus -OSHA Voluntary Protection Program experience preferred -Any related college degree -Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician Certification (OHST) -BCSP ASP and/or CSP -OSHA 30 Hour -Subject matter expertise in OSHA standards related to manufacturing -Excellent communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office) -Aptitude for technology
