Tasks

In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance across major construction projects. You’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining WHSEQ systems, providing specialist advice to project teams, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects throughout the Northern Territory. -Collaborate with project delivery team and the broader WHSEQ team to drive a positive safety culture and achieve zero harm objectives -Manage site safety compliance, inspections and incident investigations to ensure a safe work environment and adherence to company and legislative requirements -Maintain WHSEQ management systems, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives for ongoing safety performance -Conduct regular site audits, tool box talks and risk assessments and provide detailed reports, recommendations and support the project team

What You Bring

-Demonstrated ability to build strong safety culture through proactive engagement and coaching -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage personnel at all levels -Strong understanding of WHS legislation -Relevant qualifications such as Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety -Leadership experience and the ability to mentor and support trainee safety advisors -Strong commitment to safety and well-being. -Experience with WHSEQ software -Ability to identify hazards, assess risk and implement practical control measures in a fast paced, high risk environment -Ability to obtain defence clearance i.e. Must be an Australian Citizen. -Proven track record of reducing incidents and improving compliance across multiple projects -Proven experience in WHSEQ within the construction or civil infrastructure sector
