Tasks

-Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering -Plans, schedules, conduct, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural engineering work for a global business unit, a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications for structures, building, roadways, railroads, etc. -Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions -Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements -Helps the project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Civil/Structural requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution​ -Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations -Assists in constructability reviews and provides technical support during construction, including resolving field change requests and nonconformance reports. -Leads or participates in technical meetings with clients, consultants, suppliers, and construction teams. -Originates and checks complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions -Analyses and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements -Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations -Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)​ and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)​
