Engineer – Hydrogeologist

Wsp

The Role

Overview

Hydrogeological engineer designing groundwater models, dewatering systems, and assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • groundwater modeling
  • dewatering design
  • gis mapping
  • hydrogeology analysis
  • pumping test
  • report writing

Tasks

-Perform water budget and mass balance assessments to support water resource planning. -Analyse hydrogeological investigations, including packer and falling head tests, and assess pumping test data for safe yield estimation and long-term well performance. -Develop three-dimensional (3D) groundwater flow and transport models using MODFLOW, MT3DMS, GMS, FEFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, and/or other relevant software. -Hydrogeological Analysis & Groundwater Assessment -Design and review dewatering systems for construction and infrastructure projects, and produce drawings and calculations for subsurface drainage systems to manage groundwater and seepage. -Utilize GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcMap, ArcScene, ArcPro) for spatial analysis, mapping, and groundwater data visualization. -Develop solute transport modelling for groundwater contamination studies. -Conduct hydrogeological analysis and assessment to evaluate groundwater conditions. Estimate groundwater rise and its impact on infrastructure and water resources. -Develop and Review hydrogeological reports, dewatering plans, and groundwater impact assessments. -Prepare designs, drawings, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents for hydrogeological and groundwater control projects.

Requirements

  • gis
  • modflow
  • python
  • hydrogeology degree
  • 5+ years
  • problem solving
