Overview

Design and analyze mechanical/plumbing systems for sustainable building projects.

Tasks

-System load calculations to establish equipment size -Select equipment for use in building systems. -Report writing, writing summaries of the calculation methodologies employed -Assisting and performing calculations for design specific piping systems for a variety of projects -Prepare drawings detailing the systems designed. System design calculations -Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them. -Incorporate sustainable design methods in building -Collaborate and coordinate with engineers of other disciplines, companies, and external consultants.

What You Bring

-Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels -EIT/ FE certification preferred -Past history of technical presentations and technical writing preferred -Candidate must be eligible to work in the US without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future to be considered for this role -Good time management habits, ability to multi-task, ability to sustain focus on long tasks -AutoCAD or Revit drafting skills preferred -Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical , Civil, Sanitary, Environmental or Architectural Engineering -Innovative minds: We’re looking for critical thinkers who embrace new ideas and challenge the status quo. -Ability to interface with clients -Proven ability to perform in a paid work environment with intermittent supervision preferred -Internship experience in engineering-related firm preferred -Evidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular field preferred -Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment -Membership in ASPE, ASHRAE, or NFPA preferred -Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working -Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way -Evidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the field preferred -Coursework in fluid hydraulics/piping/fluid dynamics -Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation preferred -Recent and soon-to-be graduates: Whether you’ve just graduated or are graduating before the role starts, we want to hear from you if your degree is in a relevant field.
