  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to project schedules.
  • Prepares required calculations to meet project requirements.
  • With direction from a project manager and/or Professional Engineer Design, develop, and optimize mechanical and plumbing components and systems, ensuring adherence to engineering principles and industry standards.
  • Assist senior engineers in the design and development of mechanical and plumbing systems and components
  • Develops and prepares design documentation in written and computer-aided design formats to meet project and client requirements.
  • Provides contract documents that meet the required codes and quality assurance standards.
  • Communicates with manufacturer reps and contractors to address challenges and develop practical designs.
  • Develop efficient and accurate solutions to design problems.
  • Expands knowledge of technologies, trends, and the markets in which we work as they apply to the applicable project types and continually strengthens skills.
  • Collaborates with project managers, engineers, and other team members as part of a coordinated design team.
  • Proactively pursues additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending available in-house and external training.

  • Engineer-in-training certification (EIT) is strongly recommended.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks
  • Applies mechanical engineering skills and knowledge to produce accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
  • Strong proficiency with Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Understands and works within project budgets and schedules to help the project manager meet project financial and schedule goals.
  • Strong working knowledge of heat load calculation software like IESVE.
  • Ability to prepare and review detailed mechanical drawings with supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Mechanical design experience in various sectors including Healthcare, Science and Technology, and Data Centers is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
  • Ability to integrate design elements with architectural, civil, structural, electrical, and other disciplines to deliver a coordinated, constructible design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with and ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare and present accurate, professionally written reports and recommendations.
  • Mechanical and Plumbing design knowledge for the built environment, including but not limited to HVAC, piping, plumbing, and system layouts.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including IMC, IPC, IBC, IECC, and ASHRAE, as well as LEED and green building requirements
  • Familiarity with various construction delivery processes, such as Design-Build, preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate a credible and trustworthy presence through professionalism and demeanor.
