This role is based in Birmingham City Centre, covering projects across the Midlands region. Occasional regional travel may be required.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll support senior project staff in delivering infrastructure, transportation, utilities, energy, public realm, and civil engineering developments from inception to completion. You’ll gain hands-on experience managing parts of the project lifecycle, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.

  • Prepare clear, concise project reports and presentations
  • Support procurement activities (tendering, supplier evaluation, contract administration)
  • Assist with end-to-end project delivery and coordination
  • Liaise directly with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Attend client and stakeholder meetings, represent project updates
  • Provide project support: scheduling, reporting, document control
  • Help resolve project risks, issues, and change management
  • Monitor and track budgets, costs, and cost control measures

  • Experience in a construction or infrastructure environment (consultancy or contractor side)
  • A degree in a construction-related discipline (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills; ability to engage with all project stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to learn
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and project management tools
  • Understanding of construction project delivery principles
