Tasks
-Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with FEMA, FHWA, and NCDOT hydraulic design criteria and to support state floodplain permitting and documentation. -Lead bridge projects and coordinate tasks as a bridge task coordinator, managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables. -Collaborate with the team on the analysis and design of bridges and related structures, including steel and prestressed concrete beams, concrete slabs, pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, grade separations, stream crossings, bridge rehabilitations, and design-build pursuits. -Support teams in other offices with bridge and hydraulic design tasks and plan production. -Mentor junior engineers and perform quality control reviews of structural and hydraulic deliverables. -Develop technical memorandums, specifications, feasibility studies, evaluations, and reports, and support proposal development. -Perform and review bridge hydraulic analyses, including HEC-RAS modeling, scour evaluations, and waterway adequacy assessments to support bridge and culvert design.

What You Bring
-North Carolina PE is required. -5-10 years of bridge/culvert design experience. -Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Manual for Bridge Evaluation. -Experience with CAD plan development, MicroStation/ORD, Open Bridge Designer. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. A master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is preferred -NCDOT bridge design experience and thorough understanding of NCDOT design guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation.
