Estimate high voltage substation, transmission and distribution projects.

Tasks
-Coordinate site visits and attend as required to prepare estimates/proposals -Maintain contact with the construction project team through project execution to maintain current estimating units are consistent with construction outputs. -Qualify quotes from material vendors and sub-contracts. -Travel may be required -Prepare awarded bid package to turn over to construction team for project execution. -Identify and ensure compliance with local and national codes/standards -Review RFP packages and identify project requirements for preparing a complete bid and formal proposal to meet owner criteria and deadlines. -Prepare proposal letters and bid forms to obtain quotes from material vendors and subcontracts. -Assist with material buy-outs and subcontract development for awarded projects. -Prepare preliminary project schedules to ensure ability to meet expected project milestones and contract completion dates. -Meet with and interact with customers, throughout each project's life-cycle in order to maintain positive client relationship. -Manages requests for information (RFIs) during bid process. -Estimates Substation, Transmission and Distribution projects including plan and spec (lump sum), design build / EPC (engineer/procure/construct), and design assist projects. -Applies estimating best practices and procedures. -Coordinate project scope divisions of responsibility with material vendors and sub-contractors.

What You Bring
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications -Knowledge of codes and regulations within the utility industry. -Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug test, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles. -2 or 4 year college degree in engineering or construction management or 5 years of relevant experience. -Proficient computer skills with experience with MS Office software to include word, excel, Microsoft project, and power point. -High voltage electrical experience in utility line and substations a plus. -Familiar with a data-base construction estimating software package
