Senior Certification Engineer

Tasks

-Support quarterly certification audits internally and externally -Follow, enforce, and mature the company engineering processes -Coordinate projects with 3rd party certification bodies such as UL, CSA, MSHA, and DEKRA to obtain global hazardous locations approvals (Class 1 Div 1 and Zone 0, intrinsically safe) on portable gas detection equipment -Maintain current certifications for ISC products and review proposed changes to products to ensure that they remain compliant -Participate in standards development activities that are relevant to ISC products -Participate in cross functional team meetings and design reviews to provide standards and regulatory input for product specification and scoping -Participate in the coordination of all aspects of the certification process within ISC -Support New Product Development and sustaining projects through certification feasibility & investigation of new standards as applicable -Support the global design team of mechanical and electrical hardware to receive agency approvals (UL, CSA, ATEX, ANZEx, INMETRO, MSHA, etc.) -Domestic and internation travel to certification locations to assist in successful completion of certifications (travel less than 10%) -Support and resolve certification related technical support questions and internal customer requests -Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation for submission to certification bodies

What You Bring

-Experience with simulation tools, electronic lab tools, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters -Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills -Familiarity with the following hazardous locations and gas performance standards: -EN 50271 -Demonstrated understanding of Stage-Gate and Agile development processes -Experience working with gas detection instrumentation -Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team -IEC/EN/UL 60079-0 -IEC/EN 61000 -IEC/EN 50270 -EN 300 489-1 -Experience managing work of 3rd party offshore teams for new product and product life cycle maintenance. -EN 300 330 -Familiarity with the following wireless and EMC standards: -Ability to complete tasks accurately with close attention to all aspects of work -EN 45544 -Strong experience using solder equipment and mechanical tools -Effective written and verbal communication skills -EN 300 328 -IEC/EN/UL 60079-1 -IEC 60079-29-1 -Some working knowledge of wireless communication protocols (BLE, WiFi, Cellular, etc.) -Experience working with battery operated low-power designs. -Bachelors in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, from an accredited college/university or equivalent degree/experience -CSA 152 / CSA 22.2 60079-29-1 -IEC/EN 62311 -Knowledge of products designed for Intrinsically Safe Hazardous Environments -Proficiency in using Windchill PLM, Oracle EBS, and JIRA -10+ years of experience as a degreed Engineer with a focus on product certification
