Tasks

-o Adhere and train employees to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements. -o Responsible for providing safety leadership within the metal’s team, including development of new safety policies and procedures to support world-class practices. -o Investigate and report on all labor variances. -o Provides guidance and fosters a positive work environment. -o Provides strong leadership and mentorship of the metal team by promoting high standards. -o Evaluate and disciplines employees as required, according to company policies. -o Supervises daily work tasks and schedule for department activities. -Responsible for the oversight and management of the Metal’s departments and all manufacturing support functions in a world-class plant operation’s manner. Is responsible for supervising all employees in a timely completion of all work orders to meet quality and efficiency standards, as well as providing a collaborative approach to excellence in safety, process compliance, and operational excellence activities . -o Promote 5S and good housekeeping practices throughout the department. -o Assists in the hiring, training, and supervision of metal staff, providing guidance and fostering a positive, employee-centric work environment.

What You Bring

-This position should possess the following skills/knowledge: -o Required to work a 40-hour work week with overtime as required to support plant operations. -o Exhibits strong organizational skills and the ability to sustain. -o Required to lift 50 pounds and move odd, shaped objects (desks, tables, etc.). -o Typical office/factory environment with exposure to ambient temperatures in un-conditioned production areas. -o Active participation in the hazardous communication program. -o High School Diploma. Engineering or Industrial degree preferred. -o Strong 5S, housekeeping skills that align with world-class manufacturing programs. -o Understands the principles and tools of Operational Excellence with previous experience preferred. -o Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment. -o Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to analyze and make informed decisions. -o Exposure to hazards such as electrical and moving mechanical parts. -o Prefer 5 years’ experience in the fabrication and assembly of metal products or heavy manufacturing field. -o Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), previous ERP experience preferred. -o Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams. -o Must be able to be on the shop floor for a minimum of 50% of the workday. During this time, it may include walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time. -o Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel, as well as key stakeholders. -o Each employee is required to wear eye, hearing and foot protection. -o Must be able to withstand extreme seasonal temperature conditions. -o Exposure to general production machine noise levels.
