Tasks

-Participate in internal and external meetings to identify potential challenges in material fulfillment. -Oversee the development and implementation of a Material Planning & Scheduling Strategy, incorporating forecasts to ensure material availability. -Plan, organize, and supervise daily activities of direct reports in support of departmental initiatives. -Evaluate the performance of direct reports and provide training and development opportunities. -Conduct research and investigate availability for key equipment. -Identify opportunities to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service levels. -Manage inventory to ensure optimal levels in a cost-effective manner. -Work closely with business stakeholders and suppliers to resolve issues and support high material fulfillment levels. -Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and preferred suppliers to ensure key equipment is appropriately planned. -Provide input into department goals and objectives. -Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards -Administer Collective Agreement terms and represent management in grievance resolution. -Monitor supplier trends to ensure timely fulfillment of materials and recommend improvements to enhance efficiencies. -Lead or participate in departmental projects and key initiatives to ensure quality and timely completion. -Manage processes related to Inter-company Branch Transfers, Cycle Counts, Expired Materials, Safety Stock, Inventory Adjustments, and Product Reclassifications. -Prepare, analyze, and present reports, findings, and proposals. -Maintain budget responsibility and signing authority according to established policy. -Lead investigations and corrective action plans for material shortages. -Ensure ongoing awareness and communication of the commodities market.

What You Bring

-Experience in performing extensive analysis and generating detailed reports. -Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide practical and innovative solutions. -Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects within established timelines. -Experience in Material Planning and Expediting is an asset. -Advanced knowledge of inventory management and MS Office applications. -Minimum 5 years of related experience in an inventory and procurement management role. -Experience in a unionized utility environment is an asset. -CSCMP designation or advanced enrollment is an asset. -Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent. -APICS or SCMA enrollment is an asset. -Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information concisely. -Must hold and maintain a valid class “G” driver’s license. -Effective leadership, change management, supervisory, and delegation skills, with attention to detail and organization. -Strong knowledge of procurement concepts and financial analysis. -Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
