  • Support governance and decision-making – Provide high-quality reporting, advice, and recommendations to senior leaders and partners, ensuring decisions are informed and well governed.
  • Shape commercial strategy – Develop and deliver robust commercial strategies for renewable projects, turning market insights and policy frameworks into value-driven plans.
  • Manage contracts and risk – Review and interpret key commercial agreements to ensure they are commercially sound, compliant, and aligned with project and joint venture governance.
  • Optimise revenue performance – Analyse market pricing and trading opportunities to maximise electricity revenue and overall project returns.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders – Build strong working relationships across SSE Renewables, joint venture partners, and external stakeholders to drive a collaborative, commercially focused approach.

  • Proven ability to interpret and negotiate contracts including shareholder, co-development, or offtake agreements.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, able to distil complex market and regulatory information for senior decision-makers.
  • Demonstrable communication and influencing skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels in fast-paced, complex environments.
  • Strong commercial or legal experience in the energy sector, ideally with a focus on renewables or power markets.
  • Excellent understanding of energy markets and revenue mechanisms such as CfD, Capacity Market, or RESS schemes.
