Tasks
-Cathodic Protection (CP): Develop, review and specifiy cathodic protection systems in new projects or modifications to existing facilities. -Coordinates implementation of design engineering solutions. -Serves as the Lead Engineer or the project Technical Authority on projects and holds advanced level specialisation in one or more areas of the materials discipline (i.e. corrosion, coatings, welding, CP). -Makes recommendations on project organization requirements, work methods and procedures and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions to problems in own or various engineering disciplines. -Assesses work against standards, aims and specifications. -Generally directs highly qualified professionals engaged in complex engineering projects. -Contributes to engineering bids and proposals. -Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports / respective team. -Undertakes Technical Bid Evaluation for subcontracted scopes and may have oversight of vendors. -Provides technical direction to project team members. -Provides awareness of technical advancements and new ways to serve customer needs. -Provides appropriate HSSE leadership including compliance with site and office safety requirements and technical/design safety requirements. -Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement. -Helps to establish a culture of technical excellence through role modelling and communicating expectations. -Provides coaching and mentoring for direct reports. -Formulates and directs investigations or prototype, model and system studies, evaluating and interpreting the data obtained and recommending practical application of results. -Cathodic Protection Integrity Assessments - Onshore/Offshore pipelines, equipment and structures. -Manage multiple small to medium sized projects, with responsibility for cost, risk and resource allocation. -Reviews project-related documentation to ensure accuracy. -Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively. -Outlines requirements, assigns tasks, and supervises progress to ensure that targets and specifications are being met. -Monitor compliance with competence standards. -Responsible for supervising technical specialists or engineers responsible for complex technical tasks. -Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling projects. -Provide expert technical advice and develop innovative engineering methods to solve complex problems and optimize project outcomes. -Organising, active participation and occasional leading of design reviews. -Perform the role of Technical Authority when appointed to do so. -Coating Design and Specification - Onshore and Offshore. -Corrosion Monitoring and Risk Assessment. -Corrosion & Material Selection: Providing expert advice and solutions to avoid and manage corrosion-related problems in new projects or modifications to existing facilities. -Acts as technical custodian for low to medium value bids and proposals. -Support the development and retention of motivated and competent people. -Provides expert advice on design processes or construction methods. -Participate in incident investigations as required. -Supervises complex engineering tasks related to a portion of a major project. -Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities. -Evaluates options and selects technical solutions that optimises technical and financial success. -Provides technical guidance and direction to teams of professional and non-professional staff. -Supervises and participates in delivery of complex engineering tasks. -Supervises delivery of subcontracted design engineering. -Participates in recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet succession and business plans. -Development of materials section of Specifications for Valves. -Manages performance of direct reports. -Corrosion Modelling Studies. -Contributes to business development through regular engagement, relationship building and delivery to clients, as well as seeking opportunities to expand scope of work for Wood. -Assists in establishing project aims and outcomes to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design. -Reviews and manages complex projects within area of expertise or of a multidisciplinary nature. -Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and complex coordination requirements. -Has authority for a portfolio of consulting projects, managing and providing technical direction and guidance, managing client relationship and project team engagement, with responsibility for cost, schedule, resource allocation and risk.

-Work consists of complex procedures and tasks where diagnostic ability is required to assess the situation and identify appropriate actions to follow. -Typically requires more than 10 years progressively more responsible pertinent experience; multidiscipline knowledge as well as quality management standards and practices required. -Good interpersonal and team working skills, builds positive relationships with supervisors, subordinates, peers and clients. -Consistently demonstrates creativity and innovation in finding solutions and alternatives to address complex client requirements. -Strong leadership, communication, adaptability, and commitment to safety and professional development. -Ability to broadly interpret principles, theories, and concepts of an engineering specialty. -Bachelors (minimum) or Masters (desirable) Degree in engineering discipline. -Ability to supervise, manage, motivate and mentor technical professionals. -A technical specialist, capable applying advanced engineering concepts to unique engineering problems, typically requires more than 10 years progressively more responsible pertinent experience. -High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work. -Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative. -Has a in depth understanding of Wood's business position and commercial objectives, is able to implement recommend improvements to those commercial objectives. Understands and can manage technical and commercial risk. -Agile, with ability to adapt and troubleshoot solutions. -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Multi-discipline knowledge, knowledge of advanced principles and techniques of engineering as well as quality management standards and practices required. -Ability to diagnose and resolve significant and unusual problems and generate substantial improvements to practices and procedures. -Ability to execute and oversee project scope, budget and schedule -For roles in Cathodic Protection, qualifications comparable to NACE CP specialist or ISO 15257-2017, Level 4 and 5 (desirable). -Recognized as a technical specialist with ability to develop and mentor junior staff. -Demonstratable CPD record showing examples of technical and consulting development. -Effective communication and interpersonal skills for inter-departmental and external company interactions. -Uses advanced technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including complex problems and to complete any project tasks with minimal guidance and direction. -Cathodic Protection (CP) field work, TR/test point checks, potential measurements. -Solutions-oriented and creative, able to apply process and rigour to deliver quality solutions. -Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution preferred. -Possess a good knowledge of the various Business Units, Functions, Sectors and services offered within business area, a general understanding of other Wood business offerings and some ability to network and connect internal stakeholders. -Cathodic Protection (CP) onshore system installation, installing & commissioning test points, anode beds, TR units, monitoring stations.
