The Role

Overview

Install and frame steel studs for walls, ceilings, and soffits in construction projects.

Tasks

-Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and framing requirements. -Measure, cut, and install steel studs, track, and framing materials according to design specs. -Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, fall protection, and hazard awareness. -Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and materials. -Collaborate with other trades and team members to maintain job site coordination. -Install blocking, backing, and bracing to support drywall and other finishes. -Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently. -This role may occasionally require working in high, precarious places; near fumes or airborne particles; and handling toxic or caustic chemicals. There is also a risk of electrical shock and vibration in certain situations. -Construct interior and exterior wall systems, ceilings, bulkheads, and soffits. -Ensure all work complies with building codes, project specifications, and safety regulations.

What You Bring

-Strong understanding of framing techniques, materials, and construction practices. -This position requires outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions. -OSHA 10/30 certification preferred. -Physical stamina to lift, carry, and work on ladders or scaffolding for extended periods. -Travel required based on project location -The role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises. -Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites as required. -1-3 years of proven experience as a steel stud framer in commercial construction. -The ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a minimum weight limit of 50lbs. These tasks may vary and are not required to be performed daily. -This position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle. -Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints. -Proficient in the use of framing tools such as screw guns, chop saws, levels, and laser layout tools.
