Value Stream Leader (VSL)

Overview

Lead continuous improvement and manage end‑to‑end production in a manufacturing value stream

Tasks

-Lead daily, weekly, and monthly Gemba reviews to drive alignment and focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations. -Partner with other VSLs and senior leadership group to develop business strategies for success, staffing optimization, and overall site management. -Establish performance standards and objectives for the Value Stream Team that align with achieving site and future state goals. -Coach, mentor, lead, empower, and develop people (both direct reports and indirect team members) in continuous improvement and problem-solving best practices to facilitate a continuous improvement culture with a growth mindset. -Reduce the cost of assembly year-on-year by actively encouraging, promoting, and facilitating the implementation of innovative solutions to ensure quality while delivering lower costs and shorter lead times. -Oversee the end-to-end production process of the value stream and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency and scale production to meet the needs to of the business -Meet with Value Stream associates regularly to reflect on problems, solutions, and challenges, thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement. -Develop and implement an annual operating plan including Kaizen opportunities, capital plan, labor planning, productivity projects, and production department budget. -Scale the FBS culture and drive positive engagement through ongoing development and managing of production supervisors, technicians, process engineers and other value stream members.

What You Bring

-Walking: Particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. -Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment to deliver on commitments. -3+ years of relevant working experience in manufacturing/production with supervisory role. -Lifting on occasion 10-50 lbs. -Demonstrated history in achieving production success through leading a continuous improvement culture -Proven ability to leverage lean manufacturing tools and deliver results (Leading & Sustaining Kaizens, Daily Management, 5S, Single Piece Flow, Standard Work, Kanban, TPM, TPI, etc) -BS degree or higher in related field (Engineering, Engineering, industrial engineering or other technical degree or equivalent) -Additional Experience in Materials, Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering a plus. -5+ years' experience as a people leader -Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
