The Role

Manage locomotive product cost analysis, support proposals, and drive cost‑out projects.

Tasks

-Track copper and steel fluctuation -Prepare comprehensive cost analysis reports for multiple locomotive projects. -Track impact of commodity fluctuations to product cost -Support product inquiry team, providing cost out estimates. -Assess cost implications of product changes to production and aftermarket. -Contribute to proposal analysis, identifying cost gaps and cost out opportunities -Collaborate with other departments to gather cost data, track cost out project execution, review milestones with key stakeholders, escalate as needed. -Serve as a change agent by challenging status quo and supporting continuous improvement

What You Bring

-Previous experience in OEM manufacturing or engineering design -Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing and operations standard processes and basic product knowledge; -Strength – Position typically involves office managerial work as well as oversight in an industrial environment. Frequently standing, sitting, and walking. Occasional light to medium-level lifting (up to 30 pounds). -Vision/Hearing Requirements – Constant verbal communications, including both talking and hearing. -Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work across multiple functions -3-5 years of rail experience; -College degree (BA/BS); -Motion – Position regularly requires standard motions associated with an office environment as well as standard motions associated with leading and demonstrating in an industrial environment. -Locomotive product knowledge -Demonstrated problem-solving skills to solve common problems; -Previous experience in a Program/ Project/Product Management role -Project, Product, Cost Management or Manufacturing experience; -Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
