Tasks

-Lead the monthly revenue recognition cycle, partnering with Regional Cost Control Managers to ensure that project financials are accurate under the percentage-of-completion method. -Oversee reconciliations of key general ledger accounts, including intercompany balances, project-related assets and liabilities, and work-in-progress (WIP). -Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements. -Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. -Maintain and improve internal controls over accounting and project financial reporting. -Help enforce accounting policies and drive consistency across regions or business units. -Supervise and mentor staff accountants and payroll specialists, reviewing their work and supporting professional development. -Assist in preparing presentations and analysis for leadership, including variance explanations, performance trends, and other ad-hoc reporting as needed. -Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. -Assist with month-end WIP reviews and reporting of project financial performance to executive leadership and operations teams. -Support system implementations, upgrades, and testing for accounting modules. -Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve system efficiency. -Manage audit and tax engagements, including coordination with external auditors and external tax professionals. -Serve as a key backup to the Controller in managing accounting operations and leading the accounting team.

What You Bring

-Experience managing payroll teams a plus -Proven ability to manage according to deadlines -Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial analysis techniques -Ability to travel (less than 10%) -CPA required -Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; Master's degree in accounting preferred -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams -Exposure to international accounting and multi-entity consolidation a plus -Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills -Engineering or construction industry experience preferred -8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibilities (public accounting or private industry) -Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with one or more accounting systems required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience preferred
