Tasks
-Provide strategic technical leadership on drainage and stormwater design. -Interface with clients, including federal, state, and local agencies. -Support with client relations, stakeholder management, and sub-consultant coordination. -Design of erosion control and water control facilities -Design of roadway drainage and flood control facilities -Coordinate with office management and project managers to share resources -Ensure project compliance with AASHTO, FHWA, NEPA, USACE, DOT's, and local municipalities’ stormwater management guidelines and QA/QC protocols. -Provide project oversight and schedule monitoring. -Prepare clear and accurate studies, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects. -Assist in proposal preparation, including oral presentations -Coordinate and work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects. -Maintain strong client relationships with public agencies and local municipalities. -Prepare scope and fee proposals, prepare oral presentations, track and manage project budgets and invoicing, prepare project schedules, and develop project work plans. -Managing and designing local flood control projects and performing engineering tasks, including regional flood control facility design, roadway drainage design, utilities coordination, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, technical drainage report preparation, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) review of various construction documents. -Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders. -Take ownership of projects from start to finish and deliver innovative, resilient, cost-effective solutions

-Excellent written and oral communication skills. -Ability to interact with and work cooperatively with clients and multi-disciplinary team members. -Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices. -Self-motivated with solid organizational skills and attention to detail. -Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills. -Knowledge and experience with Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-1, HEC-HMS, Power InRoads SS2, HEC-RAS, HY-8, FlowMaster, StormCAD, CulvertMaster, and other applicable software common to the field of drainage engineering. -Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once. -Familiar with DOT’s Standard Plans and Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and experience with the procedures outlined in DOT's Plan Preparation Guide and Drainage Manual. -Experience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal plans preparation procedures, standards, guidelines, and design criteria. -5 – 15+ years of professional hydraulics design experience, including:Design of roadway drainage and flood control facilitiesDesign of erosion control and water control facilities -Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets. -Experience and relationships with transportation and flood control agencies are highly preferred. -Experience in managing technical staff and project teams. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
